Edna Longfellow was born Aug. 5, 1896, at Clements, Kan., and at an early age moved with her family to Peru, Neb.
On Sept. 6, 1913, she married John E. Bennett at Shelby, Neb. They made their home in Nebraska, Arkansas and Iowa before moving to Malaga in 1937.
In 1938, they settled in Manson where they were orchardists until their retirement in 1958.
Mrs. Bennett had a long association with the Manson Apple Blossom Festival and was known as the "Crown Lady" for her fashioning of crowns for the festival royalty. She had also been active in arts and crafts for many years and enjoyed poetry.
She was a member of Manson United Methodist Church, World War I Women's Auxiliary, the Manson Sew and Sew Club and the Manson quilting group.
Survivors include four daughters, Wanda Miller, Manson, Marcella Jones, Spokane, Marjorie Greene, Wenatchee and Robert, Tacoma; a sister, Inez Wisdom, Green Forest, Ark.; a brother, Ernest Longfellow, Peru, Neb.; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Mr. Bennett preceded his wife in death in 1978.
