Dale R. Willis, 76, of rural Mount Pleasant and Lockridge, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at his home.

Born Feb. 26, 1931, in Henry County, he was the son of Thomas McKinley and Lena Watson Willis. On Dec. 27, 1951, he married Patricia Millspaugh in Mount Pleasant. She died in 2007.

Mr. Willis worked for Waters Implement. He worked at The Company until his retirement and served in the Air Force for 23 years, retiring as a chief master sergeant. He was administrator and governor of Mount Pleasant Moose Lodge for many years. He was a member of Faith Christian Outreach Center and VFW and enjoyed working on engines.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl L. Brady of Fairbanks, Alaska, Terrie L. Howell of Mount Pleasant and Roberta D. Furlong of California; one son, William T. Willis of Mount Pleasant; 13 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Moehle of Stockport.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

The funeral for Mr. Willis will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Christian Outreach Center in Mount Pleasant with the Revs. Monte Knudson and Mike Furlong officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Grant Cemetery in Rome.
