October 26, 1926 - July 11, 2022
Mary Frances Barker went home to the Lord on July 11, 2022. Born October 26, 1926, in Hobart, Oklahoma, her family moved to Paris, Texas, because of the dust bowl. She later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she married Billy M. Barker on June 2, 1946, and started a family. Along with her family, she moved to Visalia in June of 1964. Mary worked for the County of Tulare (hospital system for short period) and retired after over twenty years from the Recorder's Office.
Mary was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Visalia. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener and cook, all of which she enjoyed. She taught sewing through 4-H for many years and even made her daughter's wedding dress. Mary enjoyed traveling the US and the world with The Gadabouts. More than anything, Mary adored her grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Clarice Morris and her siblings Ken Morris, Floyd Morris, and June Kalberg. Mary is survived by her four children Bill Barker Jr of Morro Bay (Donna), Phil Barker of Visalia (Jan), Dan Barker of Mooresville, NC (Ginny), Peggy Fawcett of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (John), her eight grandchildren; Kecia Van Mechelen, Scott Barker, Casey Barker, Hannah Groenenberg, Rebecca Dalessandro, Zachery Barkjohn, Kathleen Janowski, John Fawcett, and 6 great grandchildren.

Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
