Mrs. Lola Cockrum, Rt. 4, Paris, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday, June 16, 1978, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 18, in Leverett-Steele-Thomas Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in McDonald Cem. A life resident of this area, Mrs. Cockrum was born Sep. 1, 1907, in Lamar Co., a daughter of N.L. and Meddie (Whitaker) Blankenship. She married L.O. Cockrum on Jan. 21, 1926 in Biardstown. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles Cockrum of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Myrick of Dallas and Mrs. Jewel Hazelrigs of Gainesville; two brothers, Delmar Blankenship and Clifford Blankenship, both of Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Duff, Mrs. Etta King and Mrs. Edna Kember, all of Calif.; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
