The Paris News: Jul 2, 2002: Wanda L. Myrick of Paris died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care. Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Randall Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born in Slabtown, the daughter of L. O. "Doby" and Lola Blankenship Cockrum. She married Bobby Myrick on Dec. 23, 1956 in Dallas. She worked for Southwest Land Title Company in Dallas until retirement and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paris. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Diane Collis and husband Mike of Louisiana; two grandchildren, David Collis and wife Karrah, and Nikki Collis; one great-grandchild, Gavin Collis; one sister, Jewel Hazelrigs of Gainesville along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Cockrum. Casket bearers will be Dr. Ed Schaeffer, Bill Flannary, Chad Reger, Johnny Wright, Jimmy Myrick and Mark Simmons.
