Funeral Services For U. S. Derflinger

    Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at Bennetts Chapel for Ulysses Samuel Derflinger who died at ten o'clock Thursday morning in the Front Royal Community Hospital. Services were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. James D. Burford.
    Mr. Derflinger was a prominent retired farmer of the Fork District. He had been ill for two days with pneumonia. He was 74 years of age and was born In the Fork District and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Derflinger. He married Miss Virginia Dawson who died seven years ago. He is survived by a son and two daughters, Samuel Derflinger and Mrs. Sam Hockman, of Bennetts Chapel, and Mrs. Kate Derflinger of Front Royal. Three brothers and three sisters also survive: Robert Derflinger, Mrs. John Alger, and Mrs. Joseph Grim, of Marinsburg, W. Va.; Joseph Derflinger of Front Royal; Clarence Derflinger, of Bennetts Chapel and Mrs. Russell Andrews of Bethel, Warren County. Four grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive. Interment was in the Bennetts Chapel.
