Shelby is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, the Rev. A Gayle Ford, her daughter Karen Elizabeth Ford of the home, her son James "Jimmy" Arthur Ford and his wife Jennifer "Jenni" of Greensboro and two young grandchildren, Ella Ford (age 10) and Everett (age 3.)
The family received guests and visitors Friday, Sept. 3, at the Gordon Funeral Service in Monroe (1904 Lancaster Ave.).
A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the rise in COVID-19. In the meantime, a graveside service will be held at a time and place to be determined.
