Born at Smith Ridge, Va., on Oct. 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William Richard White and Linnie Jane Smith White.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Howard Kinder; four sisters, Martha Delilah McGlothlin, Elizabeth Shelton, Erma Maxwell & Lula Mae Mercer; one brother, Ira White; and one daughter, Judy Katherine Boyd.
Mrs. Kinder was a member of the Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church for over 60 years.
She is survived by five daughters, Sue Boyd & husband Don of Abingdon, Va., Linda Collins and husband Chuck of Bristol, Va., Jeanette Johnson & husband Ronnie of Smith Ridge, Va., Pauline Taylor & husband Mike of Rosedale, Va., and Alice Kinder & husband Steve of Christiansburg, Va.; two sons, Paul Kinder & wife Pat of Honaker, Va., and Doug Kinder & wife Diane of Smith Ridge, Va.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several setpgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren, son-in-law, Robert C. Boyd of Swords Creek, Va.; several nieces and nephews, special caregivers Elaine Rippeth, Teresa Underwood, Carrie Payne and all the Preferred Home Hospice Employees also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 8, 2008 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with Elder Ezra Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Sawyers Cemetery at Smith Ridge, Va.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va., from 6-9 p.m. Monday with services at 7:00 p.m.
