Carolyn Taylor Goldsmith, 88 of Upton, passed away Sat. July 30. She was born May 5th 1934 in South Tunnel, Tenn. to the late Ira and Francis Durham Taylor. She is preceded in death by her sisters Mabel Franklin, Margaret Johnson, Callie Long, and Katherine Haynes; brothers Harold, Gordon, Joe and Kenneth Taylor. She is survived by a sister, Delores Lopez (Jim) of Elgin, Tx; a son, Barry (Debbie) of Elizabethtown; grandson Joshua and granddaughter Miranda, both of San Diego, Calif. She was retired from Dow Corning, a member of the LaRue Co. Church of Christ, and the Upton Homemakers.
She was fiercely independent despite never learning to drive. She loved cats, flowers, and the University of Tenn. football and basketball teams. An excellent mother, she will be greatly missed. Visitation is Wed. Aug.3rd. from 4 to 7pm at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton. A private graveside service for the family with minister Randy Lane will be held at the Upton cemetery on Thursday Aug.4th. at 3pm.
