Pat passed on July 29, 2021 at IMC Medical Center in Murray, Utah due to heart complications from
Covid. She had been fully vaccinated as had her husband Jim and daughter Connie who were both in ICU
at the same medical center. They both recovered, however both still suffer from long Covid issues.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 6th at Bob Neal and Sons - Brickell Funeral Home
in Marvell, AR at 10:00 am. Following the service her cremains will be buried at Turner Cemetery,
Turner, AR.

Pat was born on December 8, 1944 at Indian Bay, Arkansas to Arnold "Dick" Johnson and Donna Smith.
She was the middle child of "The Johnson Girls" as they were often called. She grew up along Indian Bay
and close areas. The family purchased a farm near Marvell and she lived there until she was 11. She
attended Good Luck and Marvell School.

At age 11 her parents sold the farm and bought a new car to take the family to California where relatives
told them they would find work. Grandpa Dick didn't like it there and wanted to return to Arkansas. When
they asked Mama where she wanted to go she said stay in California – it had an indoor bathroom! She
attended Jr High school in Wilmington. Her younger sister June became friends (partners in trouble) with
Jim's younger sister Lena. Lena wanted Jim and June to get together. But one time Jim saw Pat coming
down the stairs and told his friend that's who he was going to marry. They became engaged when Mom
was 15 and Dad was 18. They married on January 29, 1961 in Torrance and celebrated their 60th Wedding
Anniversary last year. Mom had barely turned 16 in December and Dad was 19 when they got married. A
year later they started having children with their oldest Connie born in February 1962, Laura in September
1963, Brett in September 1965, and Clayton in January 1967. Yes that's 4 kids in 5 years!

She was preceded in death by her Father, Arnold Elmer "Dick" Johnson, mother Donna Smith, daughter
Laura Irwin, and grandson Nicholas Irwin. She is survived by her husband Jim Irwin, dog Sonny,
daughter Connie Irwin Church, and sons Brett Irwin and Clayton (Dena) Irwin all of WA. Survived by
grandchildren Katie Rose Hawkins of Leachville, AR, Jacob (Sherina) Meyers of Canberra, Australia,
Enrique "Connor" (Michelle) O'Neill of WA and Jojo (Breauna) Elliott of Bluffdale, UT, Nathan Meyers
of Riverton, UT and Megan and Kayla Irwin of Rhododandron, OR. Great grandchildren Ashtyn, Ethan
and Hannah Hawkins of Leachville, AR and Kiori Galvez-Meyers of West Jordan, UT and awaiting the
arrival of another great-granddaughter Emery in November. Also survived by her two sisters Edy Taylor
of Pine Bluff, AR and June Brickner of Moscow Mills, MO. Niece Donna Taylor Bowden, and nephews
Kendon Echols and Richard Lewis of AR, Wayne (Mary) Richardson of Troy, MO and Jeffrie (Kathleen)
Richardson of Lake St. Louis, MO. Several nieces and a nephew on the Irwin side spreading from OR to
AL and great nieces and nephews.

Pat learned to drive and went back to school and completed her GED at 33 years old and took college
courses in Early Childhood Development. She worked with the Head-Start program for many years. She
then became a dental assistant for Drs. Rick and Charlotte Russell in Helena before moving back to
California with her family in 1984. She was a master gardener and her roses were always gorgeous and
fragrant. She was talented in cooking for her family, sewing, crewel embroidery and jewelry making.

Pat was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) and had a strong belief
and faith in Jesus Christ. She couldn't attend church regularly due to her health issues, but when she could
she loved going. She suffered from many illnesses during her lifetime and was in a lot of pain from a
botched back surgery. Heavenly Father saw her pain and ended her suffering here on earth. We are blessed
to know that families are eternal and we will be reunited with her again someday.
