Patricia worked for the Monona Grove School District and spent many years as the secretary of Maywood Elementary School. Patricia married Walter Harris on September 22, 1956 in Baraboo. They moved to Monona and lived there for about 20 years, retiring to Spring Green. They spent the winters in Gulf Shores, AL for about 18 years until hurricane Katrina hit. They moved to Platteville for a time, then to Dodgeville and finally to Mineral Point. Patty was never without a joke or a story to tell and always enjoyed getting together with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter (Bud) Harris; parents, Bill and Beryl; brothers, William, Francis (Patricia), Raymond (Joanne), Brian and Mark McGettigan; sisters, Marion (Tony) Nardi, Geraldine (Bob) Kaiser and Karen Greenwood; and in-laws, William Harris, Patti Prinslow, Barbara Romero, William Fardy and James Dunbar.
Patty is survived by her sons, Dan (Gina) Harris of Edgerton and Bill (Terri) Harris of Monona; daughters, Denise (Mark) Scullion of Monona and Bobette (Steve) Handel of Mineral Point; grandchildren, Becky Maybee, Theresa Handel, Steve (Andrea) Handel Jr., Brandon (Megan) Scullion, Tyler Scullion and Jed (Jen) Schug; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mickey Fardy; brothers, Dennis (Denise) and Patrick (Michael) McGettigan; sisters-in-law, Ruth McGettigan, Sue McGettigan, Rosalee Dunbar, Debbie Bourgholtzer and Joyce Yeager Harris; and brothers-in-law, Lee Greenwood and Ralph Romero.
Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
