Joy Gray, age 54, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at East Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Thursday, August 4, 2022, 11 a.m. . Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Gray, daughter of Dorothy Lucile Owens Hundley and the late Melvin Douglas Hundley, was born September 24, 1967 in Columbus, Georgia. She was a homemaker and someone who enjoyed going to the casino and while there having margaritas. Mrs. Gray also enjoyed fishing, shopping with family and friends, and was an avid Auburn football fan. She also enjoyed watching both horror movies and comedies on television, but always enjoyed spending time at sporting events when her family was participating. The family remembers her as a lady who always enjoyed helping others and being with people.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Fannie Lou Owens; and her paternal grandparents, Ed and Gwen Hawthorne.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mike Gray of Phenix City; her mother, Dorothy Hundley of Midland, Georgia; two daughters, Ashley Harrison (Ryan) of Phenix City and Rhonda Sampson of Smiths Station, Alabama; one son, Tyler Gray ( Caylyn) extended generations.
