Marie Rose (Gurskey) Muehlbauer, 85, passed away peacefully on Sept. 12,
2022. She was born on Jan. 16, 1937 to parents Peter and Grace Gurskey,
the first of four children. The family lived in Merrill, Wisconsin;
including brother Don and Sisters Margaret and Dorothy.
Marie married the love of her life, Marvin Muehlbauer June 23, 1956.
They had four children, Judy, Joe, Carole and Jim. In 1966, the family
relocated to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin where they owned Prairie Motor
Parts for more than 25 years.
Marie's final move, in 2001, brought her to Lake Havasu City, where she
lived with her daughter until her passing.
Marie was life-long member of Lions Clubs International. In 2007, Marie
was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.
She spent countless hours volunteering at Our Lady of the Lake Church.
Known to many as the "Snowman Lady", she loved her snowmen and angel
collections. Over the years, she had amassed a collection of more than
5,300 snowmen, in all shapes, sizes. She had over 700 angels.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Marvin (2004), her parents
Peter and Grace, and brother Donald Gurksey. She is survived by her
children Judy (Richard Molumby), Joe (Sallee), Carole and Jim (Beth),
sisters Margaret Welbes and Dorothy Klempke, and 4 grandchildren
(Kelsey, Rebecca, Nicholas and Colin).
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022 at 1 p.m. at
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with a Rosary, followed by a burial
Mass. Interment will follow immediately at Havasu Memorial Gardens.
Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
