Marca Lee Jennette McInnes Murray was born in her grandparents' home in Frederick, Oklahoma, 2 April 1931 and passed away 25 July 2022. When she was 3 months old, she and her parents, William Arthur McInnes and Jewel Velma Garner McInnes, moved to Oklahoma City where she grew up. She graduated from old Classen High school in Oklahoma City and Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma. After graduation from college Marca Lee taught home economics at Catalina Jr. High in Tucson, Arizona. The next year she went to Independence, Kansas to work for Kansas Gas and Electric.
In Independence, she was serving coffee at the Red Cross Blood mobile when she was introduced to Jim Murray. They were married 26 November 1956 at Pennsylvania Avenue Christian Church in Oklahoma City. Marca Lee and Jim were living in Independence, Kansas when their children were born. While the children were babies, they moved to Carrollton, Missouri, where the whole family was involved in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
The next move was to Morris, Illinois, where both their children graduated from Morris Community High school. The next move was to Kilgore, Texas. Their final move was to Arlington, Texas. Marca is survived by her daughter, Marilea Hickman and her husband, Winn; her daughter in-law, Sondra Murray; and grandchildren, Marshall and Marlea Hickman, and Anna, Jay, and Claire Murray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford James "Jim" Murray; their son, Wm. Jim Murray; her brother, William Dale McInnes; and a baby sister, Betty Lou Ann McInnes.
Her memorial service will be held at the Lakeside Gazebo in Moore Memorial Garden, Arlington, TX, at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, August 4th. Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, TX, on Wednesday, August 3rd, from 6 to 8 P.M.
