At an early age she came to Kansas with her parents who homesteaded near Piedmont. After being her a year, the family moved back to Illinois. Five years after the death of her mother she returned to Kansas to live with her sister, Mrs. Mary Mears.
In 1880 she was united in marriage to Charley A. Yates. They homesteaded a farm six miles south of Eureka. Later they sold this farm and bought the home south of Climax.
To this union were born two children, Donna and Seba. The father and Donna preceded her in death.
She is survived by son, Seba, his wife and children, Albert, Mary, Louise, Jo Ann, Ileen, Gene Yates, all of Severy; also two grandsons, Hugo and Yates Kraft of St. Louis, Mo., and one brother, Joe Corley, of Herrick, Illinois.
Funeral service was held Saturday, November 15, from the Baird Funeral Home in Eureka, conducted by the Rev. Robert Schaechtele. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
