James Franklin Parker, 84, of Norphlet, Arkansas, passed away on July 30, 2022 at his home.

He was born on December 29, 1937 in Camden, Arkansas.

James loved to garden, pick wild berries, fish with his best friend Bill Ray, and hunt. He had two women in his life that spoiled him, his mother and his wife. He was known in his younger days as "the guy who loved to fight".

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Parker, Jr; one daughter, Jennifer Cox; and his dog, Tasha.

James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Reuter-Parker; his daughter, Julie Cates (Joey) of Norphlet, AR; four grandchildren: Adrianne DeLancey (Josh) of West Monroe, LA of Norphlet, AR, Justin Cates (Natalie) of Norphlet, AR, Cole Cates of Norphlet, AR, and Brennan Cates of Norphlet, AR; five great-grandchildren: Jared, Jimmy, Jeana, Wyatt, and Rylee Jo; and a host of extended family and friends.

The funeral services will be held in First Baptist Church of Norphlet, AR with the Rev. Doug Wills officiating. The internment services will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Eldorado, AR.
