James, "Jim" White, is best remembered for his record-setting kick in 1968 while playing in the California Interscholastic Federation playoffs. It was Barstow High School against Ontario High when Jim kicked the 58-yard field goal. Jim graduated in 1969 at Barstow High School in Barstow, CA, then went on to the San Diego University
In addition to playing football, White played basketball in high school and at Barstow College. He also ran track at BHS.
White's survivors include his children, Laura and Donald White of Apple Valley; his mother, Melva Eubanks of Santa Barbara; and two sisters, Bonnie Burns of Fresno and Jennifer Seger of Beaverton, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don White, two sisters, Leslie Ann and Holly Opal White. Jim died on exactly the same day as his father, 16 years later.
