In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Irene Jackson Parker; son, Larry James Parker; sisters, Edna Thompson and Christine Harris; and brother, Eddie Parker, Jr.
He leaves behind two sons, three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
L.J. worked for many years as an auto parts manager. He was a dedicated and faithful member of New Life Baptist Church.
