Mary Lou passed away Thursday July 28, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Lou was born December 29, 1937, to the late Otto and Rose (Solzan) Lagodney. On August 12, 1961, Mary Lou married Ray Evert Staples Sr. He survives, along with their children: Mary Lou (Scott) Stevens of Mishawaka, IN; Ray Evert (Robin) Staples Jr, of Mishawaka, IN; Shawn Patrick (Pam) Staples of South Bend, IN and Mark Allen (Vicki) Staples of Mishawaka, IN; grandchildren: Kelsey, Kameron, Tyler, Mitchell, Hannah, Kylie and Peyton. Great grandchildren: Chase, Hailey and Winter Rose.

Mary Lou worked as a store clerk for Burger Dairy on Milburn, Smith's and 7/11 by Mishawaka High School, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 40 years and was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church for over 50 years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, 10:00AM, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church Mishawaka with Rev. Pete Pacini CSC, officiating. A Private graveside will be at a later date.
