Kevin Charles Clauson was born Oct 15, 1979 to Kenneth and Sharon Clauson. He died on Sunday, July 24, 2022 when his struggles got to be too much for him and he ended his life on earth. We pray he is finally at peace.

Kevin was baptized and confirmed at Waldheim Lutheran Church of rural Kathryn, ND. He went to school in Kathryn until they closed and went on to graduate in 1998 from Enderlin High School.

Right after high school he went to South Dakota and helped his Aunt Judy on her ranch. When he returned to North Dakota he worked in Fargo and then to Minnesota, always working with wood.

At the age of 30, Kevin decided to join the Army. He did his basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and spent the rest of his time at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, and discharged in November 2013.

He lived and worked in Houston, Texas for awhile and then returned to North Dakota. He enjoyed working at the Veterans Home in Lisbon until Covid. Most recently he worked at the Senior Center in Enderlin. He loved trying out different bars and desserts for them.

Anyone who knew Kevin knew he was born in the wrong decade. Kevin was an old soul and should have been born in Norway – he loved baking authentic Norwegian treats and talked about going there. If you want to do something, do it before it's too late.

Kevin loved woodwork and was a perfectionist and s-l-o-w! He took up oil painting recently and loved sharing his pictures with others. He was always making homemade gifts for his niece and nephews, whom he adored. It was always a wonder and surprise as to what the gift would be.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Sharon Clauson, sister Carla Clauson, her children Austin & Anna, brother Matthew (Kim) Clauson, their son Weston, grandmother Christine Hermanson, his aunts and uncles; Jim & Ilona Hermanson, Dave Hermanson (Georgeann Weinhandl), Sheryl Hanson, Judy & Rick Vee, Darrell & Nancy Hermanson, Terry & Lisa Hermanson, Mike & Laurie Hermanson, James Cunningham, Janette Hanson, Mark Ertelt and several cousins, Hermanson and Clauson relatives, and his Godmother, Jeannie Blom.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Clauson, his grandparents Elmer & Myrtis Clauson, and Art Hermanson; his aunts & uncles, Myron Clauson, Donald Clauson, Harlan Hanson, Rudy Hanson, MarJean Cunningham, Joyce Ertelt and Godfather Stan Blom.

The funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, July, 29 at Waldheim Lutheran Church, Kathryn, North Dakota. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service at the church. Burial will be at Waldheim Cemetery, Kathryn.

Kevin's family would like to thank all our dear family, friends, and neighbors during this very difficult time. It is so appreciated. Special thanks to everyone at the Senior Center – Kevin loved the older generation and sharing his baking talents with all of you.
