Rick was born on May 1, 1959, in Topeka, KS, the son of Miguel and Gloria (Rodriguez) Ramos. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1977. He was a drummer in the LHS Lions marching band.
Rick was a devoted fan of the Chiefs, Royals and Jayhawks cheering for them every season. He loved playing competitive pool and co-ed softball with friends, growing vegetables with his mom, and spending the last years with his beloved dog Shoddie, the best puppy ever.

Rick freelanced as a landscaper with corporate and residential clients also including the many projects he did for his mom and Karina, creating many beautiful spaces.
Survivors include his mom, Gloria, of the home, his son, Dominic Ramos and granddaughter, Eve Ramos of WA, his brother Tony Ramos of VA, his sisters Marcia Rinke of CA, Elsa Sprow and Gracie Wilhelm both of Lawrence, a long time friend Karina Shreever, his great-aunt Jessie, aunt Angelina, aunt Elena, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
