Raymond M. Pecuch, 94, of California, PA, died Friday, April 1, 2022.

He was born August 9, 1927, in Old Forge, PA, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Dreater) Pecuch.

He's a World War II veteran and proudly served in the US Navy.

He was a member of the California United Methodist Church.

Ray was an administrator in the California Area School District.

He also worked for the State of Pennsylvania, taught Drivers Ed Safety and at one point served as the Justice of the Peace in California PA.

He graduated from California State Teachers College, where he met his wife, Jean. He later received a Master's Degree from NYU.

Ray loved tennis, family gatherings, working hard, doing crossword puzzles, watching westerns and shopping for the best bargains. His children loved how he attended every one of their choir concerts, band performances, baseball games, dance recitals, family reunions, holidays and birthdays and took them on great vacations every year, often to the beach. He loved being a Grandad to his wonderful granddaughters as well as attending their dance recitals and birthdays.

In addition to his parents, Ray preceded in death by his 10 other siblings:

John/Jack, Nick, Anna, Bill, Harry, Olga/Cocoa, Mike, Pete, Julie, and Andy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, of 67 years. R. Jean Pecuch; three children, Cindy Pecuch, Susan Pecuch, and Raymond Pecuch, Jr., and his wife Melissa "Missi" and two granddaughters, Morgan, and Megan Pecuch.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Thursday from 10am to 12pm. There will be service immediately afterwards at 12:15 at the California United Methodist Church with Rev. Dawn Hargraves officiating.

Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park in Donora.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the California United Methodist Church, 227 Third Street, California PA 15419
