Robert S. "Robin" James Jr., 68, husband of Carol Shaleuly James, lost his battle to cancer on Sunday morning, July 24, 2022, in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Robert Shelton James and Janet Arndt James.
Robin is survived by his wife, Carol, of 37 years; daughters, Amanda and Courtney; sisters, Mary Ann Duke and Margaret Branham; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Robin attended The Citadel, where he held a Bachelor of Science in Business. As a business owner of James Formal Wear, he had been serving the Sumter community for the past 40 years. He was known for his famous weekly fish fries held in the back of his store, where he and all his fishing buddies would gather and eat fish they caught on one of their many fishing trips.
Robin was a loving father, husband and friend to everyone.
