She was raised in Canute and attended school there. She married Jerome Vieth at age 16 and then attended cosmetology school. She later married Jimmie Don Connor in 1975. Her family owned a beer joint in Canute. She was a beautician in Canute for years and specialized in military haircuts and doing hair for women. She also owned a liquor store and bait shop in Elk City and took care of her sick daughter, Linda.
She attended the Assembly of God Church. She also enjoyed cooking but was limited to no sugar because she was diabetic and gluten free because she was lactose intolerant.
Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Linda and husbands Jerome Vieth and Jimmie Don Connor; sisters Francis Rose and Flora Belle (Toodie), and brothers Walter Henry ("H"), Edward Lee and Elden.
