Mr. Stephen Parker Smith, 69, died Monday morning (July 25, 2022) at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.

He was born in Greensboro, Georgia and a son to the late McGeary Smith and Inez Parker Smith; also two brothers, Gary Daniel Smith and Stanley Smith.

He has lived most of his life in Ware County and was a 1971 graduate of Ware County High School. He was formerly employed and retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier.
His true passion was serving the Lord through preaching, singing, playing the piano and numerous various church positions. Steve was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church, but he also retired as the pastor for Newbern Baptist Church after serving for 21 years. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Brantley Smith of Waycross

Mac Smith (Lori) of Waycross and
Kelly S. Fletcher (Craig) of Lake Blackshear;

mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Billy Brantley of Waycross;
brother-in-law, Buddy Brantley (Alesia) of Waycross;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (July 27, 2022) at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
