Burlington-Charles "Kirk" Loy, 76 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 53 years to Linda King Loy who survives.
Kirk retired as a plumber and pipe fitter with Mechanical Services and was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed planting a garden, planting tomato seeds and giving away the plants and going to auctions.
Survivors include his wife, Linda King Loy of the home; sons, Craig Lacy Loy and wife, Robin and Steven Kirk Loy all of Burlington; grandchildren, Preston "Bug" Loy and Amelia Eanes; sisters, Hilda Schardein of Las Vegas, NV, Shirley Dixon of Greensboro, Julia Horner of Hobe Sound, FL and Pat Cheek and husband Harold of Burlington; brothers, William "Bud" Loy of King, NC and Tommy Loy and wife, Janice of Leasburg, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy L. and Pearl Cobb Loy; sisters, Mildred Petty, Katherin Allison and Erma Fisher.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Virgie and all the other nurses and staff of Hospice who took care of Kirk.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gerald Sanders. The interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
