In the autumn of the year of 1923, on the 24th day of October, when the harvest of fruits were gathered in, Jasper and Mary Gray gathered into their hearts and home in Wayne County, IL, a little blue eyed baby girl.

Awanda Correna Gray, who passed away from this life at the Olney Sanitarium (hospital), April 30, 1937, at the age of 13 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

Death was due to tetanus, caused by stepping on a rusty nail six days earlier. She had a kind and loving disposition with her friends both in and out of school.

She will be missed by all, especially her brothers and sisters.

Her brothers were Lester and Lynn and her sisters were Ruth and Leone. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. William Gray.
