Patricia Jones, 96, passed away July 21, 2022 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She was born December 23, 1925 to Delbert and Dovie (Cotten) Dugan in Dallas, Texas.

After attending Pleasant Grove High School in Dallas and graduating Mesquite High School in 1943, she worked to support the war effort by drilling bomb nose cones at John E. Mitchell Company. She married Orville Rex Jones on August 12, 1943, becoming a Navy wife.

Following the end of the war, she worked at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company, Dallas, as an office manager/bookkeeper for approximately 30 years. She received the "Cashier of the Year" award from the Life Insurance Cashiers and Office Managers Association. She retired in 1980 to her family home place on Lake Bob Sandlin, Mount Pleasant. Patricia began a second career and worked for the US Census Bureau and H&R Block in Pittsburg. She retired again in 2007.

Patricia enjoyed domestic and international travels, which included trips to Branson, Alaska, Australia, the Baltics, Russia, England, Ireland and Israel (at the age of 84). She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church, Dallas, followed by First Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant.

She was a 50 plus year member of Order of The Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron alongside her husband in the Dallas and Mount Pleasant chapters. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Dallas, serving as the president. Patricia volunteered with the Cub Scouts and the Order of DeMolay for Boys. She worked with various charity fund drives, including fundraising efforts for Camp Soroptimist (now Camp Summit) while she was a member of Soroptimist International, Dallas. Patricia also volunteered as a bookkeeper for the Titus Regional Medical Center gift shop.

Over the course of her 96-year life, 60 years was spent as either a proud wife or mother of a Dallas Police Officer. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, leadership, and strong work ethic.

Preceded in death by her husband, Orville Rex Jones; son, Michael Rex Jones; brother, Delbert Leon Dugan and her parents.

A graveside service will be held at Restland Cemetery, Chapel Gardens Mausoleum on July 27, 2022..RFH
