George Alexander Fairweather, 74, died at his home in Port Orchard, Washington on December 16, 2007. He was born June 21, 1933 in Minot, North Dakota to Lawrence & Hallie (Wheeler) Fairweather. He graduated from Libby High School in Libby, Montana in 1951 and Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington in 1955 with a Bachelor's degree in Language Arts. He married Janet Farrens on September 18, 1955 in Walla Walla, Washington.

George worked for 30 years as an Insurance Adjuster and Auto Damage Appriaser for General Adjustment Bureau & Crawfor and Company in Walla Walla, Port Angeles & Port Orchard He retired in 1998. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1964 in the Panama Canal Zone and traveled extensively in South America promoting good will.

He enjoyed friends & traveling in his RV,. He loved history and visiting historical sites, reading the atlas and planning his next trip. He read the papers daily and did the crossword puzzles. He was a 23 year member of the Port Angeles Naval Elks Lodge #353 and a member of Phi Mu Alpha and Alpha Phi Omega.

Surviving are his wife Jan; sons James R. (Nancy) Fairweather and Douglas G. (Kathryn) Fairweather; and grandchildren Alex, Elyse, Tori, Brad & Samantha. He was preceded in death by his son W. Scott Fairweather.

Service at 11:00am on Thursday, December 20th at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in in Port Orchard. Memorial donations to Children's Hospital, 4800 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle WA 98105. Online memorial at www.rill.com
