Wife of Luther J. Spencer. Born in Lincolnshire, Eng. and when 9 years old came with her parents to this country, settling in Barry, Orleans county. On Dec. 22, 1868 she married Luther J. Spencer and was married 38 years. Twenty Nine years ago she came with her family to Warsaw where she lived for her lifetime. Joined the Free Methodist church at Albion, NY when she was 14 years old. Was a member of M.E. church in Warsaw. Funeral was held at the Congregational Church. Services conducted by her pastor, Rev. E.J. Whitney, assisted by Rev. H. E. Guerney of the Congregational Church. Two sons survive Frank of Olean, NY and William of Warsaw. 3 Grandsons, Lee Spencer who is as one of the family, having been in the home of his grandparents since he was 3 days old, at which time his mother died; Floyd and Claude Spencer of Olean; one granddaughter Anna Spencer of Olean; also 2 brothers, James Cook of Murray, NY and Robert Cook of Warsaw, NY.
