Mary Sneed was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Potters House of Prayer in Dayton. She was a homemaker and she will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. Sr. and Annie Mears; sister Katherine Maye; and uncle, Dave Vandergriff.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 35 years, James Cleon Sneed, of Graysville; sons, Clyde Mears, Joe Mears and David Walker, all of Dayton; daughter, Mary Sue (Josh) Watson, of Pikeville, Tenn.; brothers, James C. (Carol) Mears Jr., Matthew Mears, Charles Mears, all of Dayton, and Randy (Tammy) Mears, of Wildwood, Fla.; sister, Patricia A. Swafford, of Dayton; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Potters House of Prayer with Rev Gerald Jump and Rev. Aaron Jump officiating. Burial will be at Shadwick Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at church.
