Tom was united in marriage to Mary Jo Tiefenthaler on February 28, 1981, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Early, Iowa. Tom and Mary lived briefly in Schaller, then moved to Newell, Iowa, before settling in Mountain Lake. The couple was blessed with six children, Thomas Jr. (T.J.), Chad, Emily, Lindsey, Amanda and Paige. Tom worked hard all his life and poured himself into farming, cattle and his kids. Tom was a club leader for the Loyal Lakers/Carson Climbers 4-H Club, and he especially enjoyed supporting his kids' activities.
Left to cherish Tom's memory is his wife of 41 years, Mary Brown of Mt. Lake; his children, Thomas "T.J." (Mandy) Brown Jr. of Lake Crystal, MN; Chad (Katelin) Brown of Bingham Lake, MN; Emily (Ryan) Simonette of Courtland, MN; Lindsey (Ryan) Brockberg of Mt.
