WARREN — Grayce Lajune Dennis, 100, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2009 in Colonial Oaks Health Care Center where she had been staying for 2 weeks. Previously she lived at 8430 S. E. Jeff Rd., Warren, with her daughter and family.
Grayce was born June 13, 1909 in Van Buren to the late Jasper and Lizzie (Penrod) Camblin. She married Paul Edward Dennis November 3, 1934. God gave them four children, Jacquelyn Sue (Don) Hetler, Warren; Gary Lee (deceased) (Donna) Dennis, Huntington, William Paul (Rhonda) Dennis, Woodland Park, Colo., and Dale Alan Dennis (deceased).
She lived most of her life in Marion and was employed at Farnsworth, Peerless, Crosley, Reutenbuhr Electric and Lincoln Villa. Before her marriage she was employed at G.E. in Ft. Wayne.
After retiring she lived in Port Richey, Florida for 18 years, where she went shelling at various beaches finding a rare Junonia.
She and Paul returned to Indiana (Montpelier) soon after she suffered a stroke. Paul passed away in November of 2006.
Grayce was a homemaker. She attended Montpelier Assembly of God and was a member of Evangel Assembly of God in New Port Richey, Florida.
God has always been an important part of her life and she has belonged to several churches.
Her grandchildren are Bryan Lee Dennis (deceased), Tiersa Christine Dennis (Perry Vayo), Rochester, N.Y., Donald Edward Hetler, Warren, Diane Elizabeth (Steve) Welker, Ft. Wayne, Debra Lajune (Dennis) Spitler, Warren, Dale Alan (Buffie) Dennis, Hamilton, Ohio, William Paul (Trish) Dennis, Jr., Clearwater, Fla., Mireille Yvette (Tommy) Evans, Woodland Park, Colo., Jeff Darin (An) Dennis, Las Vegas, Nev. and Kristi Dayle (Joel), Thomas, Huntington; 19 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life November 29, 2009 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion with the Rev. Ferrell Long officiating. Burial is in Farrville Cemetery.
Visitation , November 28 in the funeral home.
