Sarah Catherine Futreal Payne, 83, of Castle Hayne, NC went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Novemeber 5, 2006.

Catherine was born on March 7, 1923, in Chinquapin, NC, the daughter of the late Henry and Katie Futreal. She was preceded in death by husband Hurvie Caison and Elbert Payne, son Kenneth Caison, daughter Jane Marmor, two sisters and one brother.

Catherine is survived by her children; sons, Eugene Caison (Polly) of Columbus, SC, Harry Caison (Mary) of Emerald Isle, NC, daughters, Jean Oiler and Ruby Bryan of Castle Hayne and Terrie Payne of Rocky Point, NC and a step son Elbert Payne (Nancy) of Wilmington. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Brothers surviving are John Futreal (Louise) and Sted Futreal (Doris) of Hampton, VA., sisters, Willie Evans of Clermont, FL and Elizabeth Horrell of Wallace and sister-in-law Jerry Futreal of Burgaw. Step brothers, James, Harris and Billy Williams of Fayetteville and a step sister Lila of Virginia. She was "Aunt Cat" to numerous nieces and nephews and was blessed to loved and be loved by a host of friends.

Catherine had been an employee of Block Industries for 34 years and had retired from Daniel Upholstery. Catherine was a faithful member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Class and was a member of the Hospitality Committee and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Cape Fear Optimist Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Reverend Keith Hollar and Reverend J.D. Herchenhahn will officiate. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., tonight at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home.
