Susie Mae Morris, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana to the late Gus and Martha Lee on July 15, 1947. Being born into a loving Christian home, Sue accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lisbon, Louisiana. She later joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Cecil Cook.
As a child, Sue attended schools in Lisbon, Louisiana and graduated from Pine View High School in 1969. After graduation she moved to Dallas. During her time in Dallas, Sue worked in the culinary field for much of her career and later retired from Head Start of Greater Dallas, but the job she considered most important was her role as a wife and mother.
Sue was all about family. Sue met the love of her life. Together, they raised three children. As the appointed overseer of the family, Sue made sure she was involved in everyone's lives. From hosting family gatherings to walking her grandchildren home from school and babysitting, Sue was passionate and supportive of everyone she loved.
Sue was a faithful member of Friendship West Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frederick Haynes, III and recently united with Grace From Heaven Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Franklin Mitchell, Sr.
Susie Mae Morris gained her wings on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, two daughters, one son, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Her life and legacy will also be cherished by her sisters, brothers, an aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
