Born in Moravia, Mr. Ackerman was a member of First Congregational Church of Ithaca.
Surviving are his wife, Doris D. Ackerman at home; a son, Robert D. Ackerman; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia A. Wigfield of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Punzelt of Hamden, Conn.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held later in Ithaca. Feaster Largo Chapel of Largo is in charge of arrangements.
