Jerry Glynn "Red" Trammell, 54, of Becks Chapel, passed away on February 20, 2004 at the Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Red was born September 23, 1949 in Henderson County, Texas, a son of Harold Alton Trammell, Sr. and Johnnie Lee (Simmons) Trammell.

He graduated from Cayuga High School. He worked approximately 20 years for Wilson Downhole & Smith International, Inc. as a directional driller before retiring disabled in the year 200. Red and his partner in life, Sherry, enjoyed their passion for the love of horses on their place in Cross Roads, known as "The Twisted Bit Ranch."

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Trammell; both parents; and a brother, Perry Trammell.

Red left behind his wife, his daughter, his two stepchildren, his four grandchildren, his three remaining siblings and a brother-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2004 at Becks Chapel Church in Cross Roads. Burial followed at Becks Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens. Bro. Truman Stinson (his brother-in-law) led the service.

Pallbearers were Lenay Leavins, Troy Black, Steven Leavins, Damon Trammell, Andy Kinabrew, Kelly Dodd, Gerry Henderson, Wilsey McMahon, Wayne McMahon, and Terry Locke.
