Hendersonville - Doris Hamlin Buchanan, 80, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at Pardee Hospital.

A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Buchanan had resided in Henderson County for the past 15 years. She was a 1960 graduate of Biltmore High School and retired as the manager of Battery Park Apartments following the death of her husband. She had attended Mud Creek Baptist Church during her time in Hendersonville.

Mrs. Buchanan was the daughter of the late Stokes and Lela Ledford Hamlin, and the wife of the late Charles Eugene Buchanan, who passed away April 8, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Roger Buchanan, and brother-in-law, Riley Sluder.

Surviving are her daughters: Deidra Frady and husband Chris of Hendersonville, and Angela Buchanan Gantt and wife Georgia of Asheville; sons: Calvin Buchanan of Hendersonville and Jonathan Buchanan of Asheville; grandchildren: Austin Buchanan, Crystal Pressley and husband Joey, Jessica McClure and husband Chris, Evan Deann Ayers, and Nathan Buchanan; great-grandchildren: Tyler Pressley, Zachary Buchanan, Trevor Sell, Devon Rathbone, Asher McClure, Ackson McClure, Abigail Buchanan, and Clayton Buchanan; great, great-grandchildren: Thaiden Pressley, Freya Pressley, and Leonidas Pressley; and her twin sister, Iris Sluder of Swannanoa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lewis Memorial Park.
