Obituary

William Larry Lewis, age 75 of Creston, the Rich Hill Community, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at his home. Mr. Lewis was born February 2, 1947 in Ashe County to the late William Astor and Esther Milam Lewis. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by infant brother, Roy Abraham Lewis and brother, Burl Lewis. Larry was an active member of Three Top Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was a good friend and neighbor who never met a stranger. He also delivered meals for Ashe Outreach Ministries in the community.

Mr. Lewis will lie in state from 4:00 - 6:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Lewis is survived by, his wife, Ruby Roark Lewis, daughter, Amy Small and husband, Tom of Winston-Salem, son, Craig Lewis and wife Karen of Zionville, grandchildren, Savannah Lewis and Mazie Lewis, sisters, Juanita Roten of West Jefferson, Ilene Roten of Asheville, Wilma Jordan of West Jefferson, Wanda Mock of Warrensville, Barbara Johnson of Warrensville and Evelyn Colvard of Crumpler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
