Vernon Claude Dutton, 55, of LeClaire, Ia., died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at Copley Memorial hospital, Aurora, Ill., after suffering a heart attack last week.
Born April 6, 1899, in Durant, Ia., he attended Davenport schools. He married Shirley Thompson here Aug. 30, 1930. He was employed as general superintendent at Klise Construction Co., Bettendorf, and was a member of Snow lodge, No. 44, AF and AM, of Zarepath consistory, of Kaaba temple and of Mohassan grotto.
Survivng are his wife; a brother, Earl, Cincinatti, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Walter Brown, Elmhurst, Ill.; and a daughter, Jeanette Roberts, Applegate, Calif.
