John "Johnny" Albert Turner Jr., 76, husband of Janet Holloman Turner, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, with his family by his side.
Born on Oct. 21, 1945, in Sumter, he was a son of the late John Albert Turner Sr. and Ruby Welch Turner. Mr. Turner was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He was a master electrician and an electrical contractor for more than 40 years. He also worked with Triple T Electric. Johnny enjoyed golf, football and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered by his family for his love for his wife and children and the special joy he found in his granddaughter.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 53 years include his daughter, Lana Turner Brown (Neal) of Sumter; his granddaughter, Rory Lee Brown; his sister, Wanda Joyner (Pat); nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Johnny was a friend to many and will be remembered for his kind and cheerful spirit.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Albert "Bert" Turner III.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. James Lutheran Church, officiated by the Rev. Christine Parham.
The family with receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Prisma Health Tuomey and Prisma Heath Richland for their exceptional care.
