Grant Snyder
Grant William Snyder, 85, of Clear Lake, South Dakota passed away on July 28, 1976 at the Hendricks, Minnesota hospital.
Mr. Snyder was born July 7, 1891 in Sioux Center, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snyder. He moved with his parents as a child to Colman, SD. He grew to manhood there and was in business with his father there until 1912 when he moved to Bruce where he farmed. He served in World War I. He married Lucy Lee on September 16, 1920 at Bruce. They came to the Gary vicinity in 1931 where he farmed until retiring to Clear Lake in 1971.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and of the Peden-Cole Post No. 109 of the American Legion where he was a honorary life member.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy of Clear Lake; one son, Kenneth of San Diego, Cal.; one brother, Harold of Newport Beach, Cal.; three sisters, Mrs. S.L. Stevens of Toronto, Canada; Mrs. Ruth Clement of Berkley, Ca. and Mrs. Dorothy Langston of Los Angeles, Cal.; three grandchildren and one great grandson.
Funeral services were held on July 31, 1976 at the Methodist Church at Gary at 10:30 am with the Rev. Richard Salmonson officiating.
