He was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from St. George High School in Evanston Illinois in 1955. After attending the University of Denver, he returned to Denver following a stint in the military. He married Janice Braun on October 17, 1981 and acquired a ready-made family.
He is survived by his wife, his sister, his step children, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
