Professional Baseball Player. Bloomfield spent three seasons, from 1961 until 1963, playing minor league baseball for the Tulsa Oilers. He was called up to the St. Louis Cardinals on September 25, 1963, to replace third baseman Ken Boyer. Bloomfield was on deck when the Cardinals made their final out in a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs and did not record a plate appearance. Bloomfield was acquired by the Minnesota Twins during the off-season and spent most of the 1964 season with the Atlanta Crackers, a Triple A club. During the 1964 season, Bloomfield played seven games for the Twins as a second baseman, shortstop and third baseman. Bloomfield scored his only MLB hit, in the 1964 season with the Twins, during a game against the Los Angeles Angels. He retired after the 1964 season.
