A memorial service was held on Friday, May 20, at 11:00 AM at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel in Overland Park, KS to honor the memory of Jody Crist who passed away on the morning of Monday, May 10, 2022.
Jody was born Jody Lynn Puffer on July 17, 1954, in Detroit Michigan. Her parents were Mary Ellen and Herbert John Puffer, and she was the second eldest of four siblings. Jody grew up in Garden City, Michigan, where she attended school and eventually got a job at a local McDonald's. It was here that she met her husband, to whom she would be married for 34 years. They moved to Philadelphia and then onto Chicago where their son was born on October 31, 1986. The young family settled in the Kansas City area shortly thereafter.
Jody was a social butterfly. She enjoyed getting lunch with her friends and shopping with her siblings when they would come to visit her in Kansas. She was an avid reader of westerns and adventure novels and received an associate's degree from Johnson County Community College.
Above all, she cherished her family and her faith in God. She was close to her son, his wife and daughter. Jody was also an active member of Southwoods Christian Church in Stilwell, Kansas. She read her Bible every day and was always willing to share her testimony with those around her. She will be dearly missed.
