Mary Jo (Pillot) Bass, AGE 93, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Central Time on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Felt Baptist Church in Felt, Oklahoma with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Bertrand Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Mary Jo (Pillot) Bass was born on September 4, 1928, in Panhandle, Texas the third daughter of Henry Osborne Pillot and Emma S. (Jasper) Pillot. She helped her dad Henry in the Black Smith Shop for several years in Felt. Mary Jo took painting lessons, and her passion was painting her Christmas cards that she sent out to all of her friends. She enjoyed playing cards with the ladies. Mary Jo worked as a rural mail carrier in Cimarron County for most of her life. Mary Jo married Leroy Jackson Bass on September 24, 1949, in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2016. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lois Peters, Faye French and Velma (Bobbie) Bass, a granddaughter, Kayce Jo Bass, a great-grandson, Zack Deetz and a great-great-granddaughter, Leighton Stapleton.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Mary Jo's memory to the Felt Senior Citizens Center, PO Box 234, Felt, Oklahoma 73937.
