Stanley E. Reeves 86 of Gulfport, Mississippi passed away July 17, 2022.
He was born March 21, 1936 in New Salem, Arkansas. He was the son of General Jackson "GJ" and Georgia (Johnston) Reeves
He served in the United States Army for 20 years. Including the Vietnam War. He was stationed in various places including Europe and Japan. After his retirement he resided in Chapman, Kansas (1976-1984) Memphis, Tennessee (1984-2005) Heber Springs, Arkansas (2005-2019) then his final destination was the Armed Forces Retirement Home Gulfport, Mississippi (2019-2022).
He married the mother of his children Linda Bridges in 1959
Stanley was a wonderful father and grandfather. His family and friends were very important in his life. Every year he had a huge garden and would share with his neighbors. His hobby was making stained glass which he gave as gifts to family and friends. He was a hard worker, he was generous, he was loyal, he loved God and he loved our country.
Survivors include his children Marvin Reeves Denver, Colorado, Melinda (Ron) Riling Scottsboro, Alabama, Debra (Scott) Ussery Phoenix, Arizona. His brother Russel (Lynn) Reeves Haubstadt, Indiana. His grandchildren Jamie (Jason) Stroda, Justin (Laura) Koland, Wesley (Kelsey) Reeves, Chantel (Gina) Anderson-Puzo, Nicolette Reeves, Jade (Zack) Parker, Jaclyn Iezek. Six great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter n law Mary Reeves. His sister Cathleen (Bernard) Gunter, his sister Joyce (Paul) Brimhall, and his brother Vurlon Reeves
A celebration of life will be held at the Stevens Funeral Home Forest City, Arkansas, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022. Visitation will be one hour before service. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Honoring Stanley's request burial will be at the Salem Cemetery located in New Salem, Arkansas. Visit online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net.
