She lived in the Atlanta area for most of her life. She and her husband, Les, raised their family in the North Atlanta area now known as Brookhaven. She was a long-time member of the Atlanta Athletic Club, and the Women's Golf Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Belle and Joe Taylor; and husband, Lester H Hughes, Jr. Surviving are her three children, William T Hughes of Pasadena, CA, Robert T Hughes (Mary) of Atlanta, GA, and Linda H Broyles (Al) of Johns Creek, GA; nine grandchildren and great grandchildren.
