Teaching was a passion for Brenda and she manifested that in two distinct ways. She was a Kindergarten teacher for many years at Fairfield Elementary School and retired in 2011. She was also one of the first introductions that countless kids had to the Bible and the teaching of God's Word. Over the years, she established Sunday school programs, wrote curriculum and taught classes of all ages an appreciation of the Good News.
Known for her generosity, she spent her life in service of others. She was a member of the Junior League and a weekend mother to countless Concordia boys throughout the 90's. She was an avid reader, devouring as many as ten books in a week. The most precious moments of her life were spent with the people she loved; time spent with her siblings and dinners with the "Dorks" were always a highlight. But it was the time she spent with her grandchildren playing Old Maid, taking secret shopping trips to Target and special lunches that brought her the most joy.
Brenda's service is Saturday, July 30, 2022, 10:30 am, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:15 am at Alliance Community Church, 5610 Lahmeyer Road, Fort Wayne. Reverend Rick Harris will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Harlan Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is also Friday, July 29, 2022, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the church.
