It is with profound sadness that the family of Ronald Dean Moore announces his passing on July 15th, 2022, at the age of 89. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Theresa Ann, who passed in August, 2021, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer's.

Ron was born in Slater, Missouri on March 1,1933 to Theodore (Ted) and Hanna Belle Jacobs. He grew up Marshall, Missouri and was raised by his mother and maternal grandparents, Isaac and Hattie Jacobs. He went to Northwest Elementary School and Marshall High School where he excelled in football and track and field. He graduated from Marshall High in May,1951.

In February,1952, Ron enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland. While serving, he attended Leadership School and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in February,1954 with the rank of Corporal.

Ron met Theresa at the Players Club in St. Joseph in June,1957. They were married in December,1957 in Stanberry and were married for over 63 years. Ron was a career salesman and early married life took Ron and Theresa from Missouri to Iowa, back to Missouri, then Texas, and Oklahoma. Along the way, they welcomed five children, Lisa, Tracy, Kelley, Erin, and Jeff.

Ron and family moved back to Marshall in the mid-1970s where he and Theresa lived until 2016. Ron loved sports and never missed one of his children's sporting events. He could also spend hours watching any sport on TV but was most thrilled by the Kansas City Chiefs' success the last several years. In his later years, he developed quite a sweet tooth and Dairy Queen chocolate shakes were his favorite. He enjoyed trying his luck at the slot machines at the casino and scratch-off tickets were always on hand. His children and grandchildren will forever cherish the "infamous" nicknames he bestowed on us. Most notably, Ron will be remembered for the other constant in his life - the BIG cigar (which he never lit).

"Dad, thank you for your lifetime of love, support, and patience, always being by Mom's side, and for the courage to ask her to dance at the Players Club so many years ago."

Ron is survived by his children, Lisa Tichenor of Marshall, MO, Tracy Moore (Tammy) of Independence, MO, Kelley Lauer (Dan) of Overland Park, KS, Erin Thompson, Lee's Summit, MO, Jeffrey Moore (Tania) of Rancho Palos Verdes, California; his grandchildren, Torrie Levins (James), Lauren Thompson, Jacob Koch, Dano, Shea and Joey Lauer, Ryan and Erik Moore, Karlie, Emma and Alex Moore, and his great grandchildren Kaitlyn Divine, Adrian Doyel and Jack Levins.

Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Jay Nicholson, and home hospice nurse Carol, whose loving care, support, and friendship will never be forgotten.
